Reliquary is a keeper of fragments.

This piece centers on a hand-stitched protection pouch constructed from layered reclaimed textiles. Unlike the driftwood crossbar forms, Reliquary hangs freely from an intertwined strap of wrapped fabric and cord, creating movement and texture across the neckline.

The pouch measures approximately 3.5 inches long by 3 inches wide and contains a polished smoky quartz stone traditionally associated with grounding, energetic steadiness, and protective containment.

Layered stitching, raw edges, and suspended bead elements fall beneath like relic fragments. It carries the archetype of the reliquary — a container for memory, meaning, and gathered story. Protection here is not a shield, but a holding place. Something worn close to the chest as a reminder of what is kept, what is carried, and what is sacred.

Materials are assembled slowly and intuitively from reclaimed textiles, wrapped fiber and cord, mixed beads, and metal findings. The strap is integrated into the structure rather than added as a separate adjustable component, reinforcing the sense of containment and continuity.

This is a contemporary symbolic adornment. It is not tied to any specific ceremonial tradition, but a personal art object representing grounding, boundary, and sovereign presence.

Each piece is one of a kind and will not be recreated in identical form.
