A romantic shoulder winglet inspired by worn textiles, layered petals, and the feeling of wings resting lightly across the shoulders.
Petalwing is created from the same luminous satin base used in Shelley Novotny’s Myth Coats, reimagined in a smaller sculptural form designed to drape softly around the shoulders. The piece wraps naturally without closures, allowing the fabric to fall freely and adapt to the wearer.
The upper portion is richly adorned with tangled and weathered textile fragments in cream, gold, dusty rose, lilac, and small flashes of bright orange. The fabrics are intentionally layered and unruly, creating a textured surface reminiscent of faded petals, antique collars, and timeworn garments.
 
The lower edge finishes with a soft dusty-rose tulle trim that adds movement and a romantic, shabby-chic softness.
 
When worn, the winglet creates a delicate wing-like silhouette that frames the shoulders and adds depth to bralettes, dresses, or fitted tops. It functions as a lightweight accent piece that brings both texture and story to an outfit.
