Mantle is protection through presence.
A wide, naturally curved piece of foraged driftwood stretches horizontally across the chest, flanked by layered pheasant feathers that create a soft, winged silhouette. Beneath the crossbar rests a hand-stitched protection pouch constructed from layered reclaimed textiles.
This piece carries the archetype of the mantle — something worn across the shoulders in times of ceremony, leadership, or transformation. It suggests protection that is not rigid, but enveloping. Not defensive, but steady.
Each Protection Pouch Necklace begins with naturally gathered driftwood selected for balance and form. The pouch is stitched by hand using reclaimed fabrics, allowing texture and contrast to guide the final composition. Polished smoky quartz rests within the pouch, traditionally associated with grounding and energetic steadiness. Wood beads, onyx-toned beads, cord, and naturally shed pheasant feathers are assembled intuitively to create visual harmony and grounded structure.
This is a contemporary symbolic adornment. It is not tied to any specific ceremonial tradition, but a personal art object representing grounding, boundary, and sovereign presence.
Each piece is one of a kind and will not be recreated in identical form.
