Date
2026
Location
Northern Wisconsin
Role
Featured Artist · Creative Director · Wearable Artist
tone Cold Phoenix is a 20-minute short documentary and cinematic poem by filmmaker Nate Sheppard, exploring my life and work as a northern Wisconsin mixed media and wearable artist.
Set against the winter landscape of northern Wisconsin, the film moves through wearable art, performance, community and cold water immersion while exploring resilience, transformation and the ways creative experience can carry us through difficult things.
At its heart, Stone Cold Phoenix is about what can happen when art moves beyond the object and becomes something lived and shared. Through garment, landscape, movement and collaboration, the film follows the spaces where people gather, create, witness one another and emerge changed.
Stone Cold Phoenix was named an Official Selection of the 2026 Fresh Coast Film Festival, with its world premiere in Marquette, Michigan, followed by its Wisconsin premiere at The Hilgermann Center in Rhinelander.
