At the heart of Project North Festival, Connecting Threads invited participants of all ages to co-create a living tapestry of string, story, and spirit. Anchored by found wood, a picnic table, and a palette of vibrant yarns, this interactive sculpture grew organically throughout the day—woven by dozens of hands into a cocoon of color.
Each strand added represented a moment of play, presence, or expression—a tactile symbol of how we’re all part of something larger. Children crawled under the canopy, friends knotted yarns together, and strangers became collaborators in a shared act of joyful creation. The installation became both a web and a witness—documenting connection in real time.
Rooted in reclaimed materials and guided by the belief that art belongs to everyone, Connecting Threads turned public space into sacred space—where weaving became a ritual, and community became the art.
