Bastion anchors.
This piece centers on a naturally foraged driftwood bar measuring approximately 9.5 inches in length, forming a strong horizontal foundation across the chest. Suspended at the center is a hand-stitched protection pouch constructed from layered reclaimed textiles, framed by feather and bead elements that hang on either side.
The pouch measures approximately 4 inches long by 2 inches wide and contains a polished smoky quartz stone traditionally associated with grounding, energetic steadiness, and protective containment.
Bastion holds the archetype of the fortified stronghold. It does not conceal. It establishes presence. The driftwood bar creates structure and visible boundary, while the soft textile pouch carries what is protected within.
Each Protection Pouch Necklace is assembled slowly and intuitively from reclaimed textiles, foraged driftwood, leather cord, feather accents, and mixed beads. Variations in wood grain, textile layering, and composition are inherent to the design.
This is a contemporary symbolic adornment. It is not tied to any specific ceremonial tradition, but a personal art object representing grounding, boundary, and sovereign presence.
Each piece is one of a kind and will not be recreated in identical form.
